Green-Screen & Two Smoking Barrels
This project attempts to create a low-cost, sustainable, and comfortable living space which takes advantage of both New Orleans' climate as well as culture. The space is split into two interior floors and two exterior floors, the latter consisting of the porch protected by a green-screen louver system, and a roof garden above, both running adjacent to the interior spaces. It is along this exterior corridor that one enters. With the front door located at the end of this corridor-like porch, the space is a buffer to the southern light and approaching guests. With the use of green technology as well as natural and ecological systems, and simple, good design the Green-Screen & Two Smoking Barrels results in an efficient, welcoming home.
