I only had time for 1 image, but by playing with the family included in the revit file, one can see the possible solutions. I know that the information I’m showing isn\'t enough for a successful entry(not showing process or not providing diagrams of the analysis – all “optional”)...but I wanted to point out that the \"engine\" of the family I created allows for the designer to use it for their own understanding of the specific analysis.. .different location, different surrounding, different orientation. The current solution I have provided for the south and west (in the picture) actually prevents quite a bit of solar heat gain most of the year. One thing that people won\'t know based on just looking at the image, unless they open the file and play with the family, is that there is another function to the \"look\" of the shading fin, by clicking on a check box, the fin becomes an \"x\" allowing for additional flexibility (in addition to the spacing of the fin, the depth of the fin, the angle of the fin, and the variety of the curves...) Personally I didn\'t like the look of the X on the façade (what I don’t like others might like and viceversa), and I didn\'t use it because I didn’t need it for this particular location. Again, this entry was only to contribute to the competition, nothing more... Please comment on why you don\'t like it...or like it...especially if you are voting it down...just common courtesy.
