Model Reiser + Umemoto’s Fenquihu Bridge

This project, although not built, is an outstanding example of an informed design process by which a number of inputs are weighed against each other and balanced. In this case, an idealized geometry had to be rationalized for both the demands of constructibility and structure. I would be interested in seeing how our community might balance these parameters, and if they come to the same formal and structural conclusions that the original designers did. Is this a project to be modeled natively in Revit, and then moved to Robot or Inventor for analysis, or will .sat imports be essential?

Reiser + Umemoto’s Atlas of Novel Tectonics has some outstanding reference images as well.
