PANEL OF JURY:

1. Michael Ian Buckley
 

Michael Buckley is an acknowledged expert on the uses and market applications of hardwood species and products. He has a Masters in US and EU hardwoods and is currently a Fellow of the Institute of Wood Science, the Royal Society for the Advancement of the Arts in London and Liveryman of the Worshipful Company of Carpenters, an ancient craft guild in the City of London.

In 2003, Michael launched the Wood Awards, now the leading UK award for design and installation in wood. Michael, who resides in Singapore, has a keen interest in designing with timber. He works closely with leading furniture designers and architects and is a well-respected name among the region’s furniture and wood industries. Currently, Michael serves a member on SFIC’s Design Development Committee.

2. Susie Tay
 

Susie holds a Bachelor Degree in Arts (Architecture) and a Diploma in International Marketing. She possesses keen business acumen and acute design instinct which contributed to the success of her company, THELIFESHOP.

In 1994, Susie founded THELIFESHOP with a mission to market the East to the West. Susie’s “made-in-Asia, designed-by-Asian” concept has since won many notable accolades and gained a trusted reputation for its unique and original designer style of home wares.
